Worth to know
  • Encourage a positive and open atmosphere where learners feel comfortable sharing their understanding without fear of embarrassment. Emphasize that the purpose of the teach-back method is to help them learn and reinforce their understanding, not to test or evaluate them.
  • Once a learner has shared their understanding, offer constructive feedback on their explanation or demonstration.
  • Encourage the use of visual aids, diagrams, or charts when learners are explaining concepts, as these tools can enhance understanding and retention.
  • Implement a rule that before starting the teach-back session, all teams should be ready. This will prevent situations where people are preparing for their part during the presentation of previous teams.
  • A teach-back session is often a significant experience for participants. Therefore, it causes the content they have learned and presented to deeply and lastingly imprint in their memory.
